How to make a Folding Drying Rack For Clothes

Do you want to create a folding drying rack for clothes by yourself?

Materials

1. 4 wooden pieces (120 x 3.3 x 1.7 cm)
2. 6 wooden pieces (80 x 3.3 x 1.7 cm)
3. 2 chains (30cm long)
4. 2 hinges
5. wood screws (2 cm long) & furniture dowels (4 cm long)
6. nylon thread
7. glue for wood

Step 1: Assemble Frames and Paint them

Firstly, connect long wooden pieces (item 1) with short wooden pieces (item 2) using wood dowels. Check our video on how to make a connection with wood dowels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKvRu37wEsY

Then use screws to attach the short wood piece (item 2) right in the middle.

After that paint your frames using wood varnish.

Step 2: Attach Hinges

Place two frames next to each other and attach hinges using screws.

Step 3: Attach Chains

Attach chains as shown on the picture using screws. If you have longer chains locate them lower, but aim for an angle about 60 degrees.

Step 4: Add Screws

Add the first screw 5 cm from top and then keep a distance of 10 cm between each one. Do not screw them all the way.

Step 5: Tie Nylon Thread

Tie nylon thread or rope to screws and screw them all the way.
